A unit of the Chickamauga Chattanooga National Military Park located on Lookout Mountain. The site of the Civil War battle, "The Battle Above the Clouds." The visitor center houses a 33' by 13' mural painted by James Walker as eyewitness to the battles and has a six-minute audio presentation about the painting.

PLEASE NOTE:

The Lookout Mountain Battlefield Visitor Center at Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park closed on Monday, December 10, 2007 and will remain closed until a renovation project is completed in the spring of 2008. However, Point Park will remain open during the renovation, allowing visitors to continue to enjoy the Lookout Mountain segments of the Park.
